CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE

The retail trade current price trend series and concurrent seasonal adjustment have been reinstated. For further details refer to Seasonally adjusted and trend estimates.

REVISIONS

There are revisions to the seasonally adjusted estimates due to the reintroduction of the concurrent methodology for deriving seasonal factors.

A new base year, 2007-08, has been introduced into the chain volume estimates. This has resulted in minor revisions to growth rates in subsequent periods. In addition, the chain volume estimates have been re-referenced to 2007-08. Additivity is preserved in the quarters of the reference year and subsequent quarters. Re-referencing affects the levels of, but not the movements in, chain volume estimates.

TIME SERIES DATA

Data available from the Downloads tab of this issue on the ABS website include longer time series of tables in this publication and the following additional current price monthly series:

  • Retail turnover completely enumerated and sample sector, by six industry groups in original terms
  • Retail turnover completely enumerated and sample sector, by state in original terms
